Brian gew up in Dayton, Ohio, attended Cedarville University and then travelled to Scottsdale, Arizona, for seminary. After Arizona Brian and his wife, Jenna, moved back to Ohio where Brian serves as associate pastor at Community Grace working with a ministry called Fusion and leading the creative arts team. They now have three boys, all of which provide enough material for endless literary works.
Brian knew he wanted to write in elementary school. He penned his first mystery novel in fifth grade. It was only a few pages. And it stunk. Brian has since worked for Relevant magazine as church section editor and he currently writes for the Dayton Daily News as a freelance journalist. He's also working on some short stories.

May 2008
I've got a lot to talk about right now, but I feel that my space is a little limited. So, I'll try and get right to the good stuff. I went to the Faith and Writing Festival at Calvin College a a few weeks ago. I soaked up as much as I could and got to meet some fantastic people. I sat in front of Edward P. Jones (read Pulitzer) in one session and I totally made a fool of myself trying to start a conversation with him, but he was gracious. I also sat in the Rob Bell row at his session on the Creative Process. His wife, Kristin, was also very kind. And, the session I enjoyed most was probably the Q & A with Michael Chabon.
Also, I just got back from a family vacation at Rosemary Beach. It was sunny, beautiful and I spent the week trying to skim board, swimming with my boys and reading books like, Grace Eventually (Lamott), Possible Side Effects (Burroughs), Brave New World (Huxley). Also, you should see my wife, she has a killer tan. We had a deep conversation about grace on the way home. We drove for 14 hours in a car without kids. They packed into the DVD-laden mini-van with grandparents. And the most outrageous church sign we saw on the road read "Go to church or the devil will get you," it was full with red devil, horns and pitchfork...seriously.
Grace and Peace
Brian
